Participation in BRIDGES-NBS is voluntary, consented, and separate from routine newborn screening. Routine newborn screening remains unchanged whether or not families participate in BRIDGES-NBS.
Where is BRIDGES-NBS enrolling?
BRIDGES-NBS plans to work with newborn screening programs in seven states and territories: Iowa, Minnesota, New York, Oregon, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, and Texas. Enrollment will start in Fall 2026 as participating states and hospitals become ready.
Additional states may join in future phases.
